2016 Program of Events

A unique wood auction!

  • Is there a do-it-yourselver in the family? Here is your chance to buy your cherry, maple or other kind of wood for your next project. Artists and artisans will likely find an assortment of carving or turning blocks, as well as other special pieces to suit their imagination.
  • Up to 100 lots at the wood auction - nothing but wood - and those who don't bid seem to have just as much fun watching the show.

Lots more to see!

  • Talented local furniture manufacturers and other artisans who may well have that unique piece that would fit so nicely in your home;
  • The latest in forest equipment technology for family woodlots;
  • The Museum's rich collection of heritage buildings and woodworking tools.

Lots to discover!

  • Advice and information on trees, forests, sustainable forest management and certification under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Eastern Ontario Model Forest;
  • Direct contacts with the local woodlot owners' associations that can help you with the management of your forest in your preferred language.

Lots of fun!

  • Creative woodworking activities for children (parents tolerated!);
  • Beer garden featuring Beau’s All Natural Beer;
  • Food and refreshments on site;
  • Musical entertainment.
