The organizers of the 2013 Glengarry Wood Fair and Wood Auction thank the exhibitors, demonstrators, artisans, artists and volunteers who made the event a great success; the media; and the community, whose continuing support clearly justifies the effort involved in staging the fair.
They gratefully acknowledge the financial support of their event sponsor, Scotiabank, as well as the other Wood Fair sponsors listed in the column on the right.
Wood has been a huge ingredient in the lives of pioneers and the shaping of this country. The Glengarry Wood Fair and Wood Auction showcases all aspects of forestry and the crafting of wood products, then and now. Discuss tree planting and woodlot management with forestry professionals, or watch demonstrations of the wood arts from turning and carving to timber framing and chainsaw operating. Travel back in time and view the Glengarry Pioneer Museum's collection of antique wood handling and crafting tools. Buy the wood you need for this year’s projects from local woodlot owners. Enjoy the shows.
The Wood Fair has three primary objectives:
The Wood Fair is a joint venture of the Glengarry Pioneer Museum - which hosts the fair on its grounds in Dunvegan, Ontario - and two Eastern Ontario private woodlot owners associations: the Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Certified Forest Owners Inc. and Boisés Est, enr.
